The Second International Caspian Convention
In 2004 The Second International Convention was held in Lincolnshire in conjunction with the Caspian Horse Society Show.
It was a great privilege to welcome Louise Firouz as both a guest speaker and show judge to attend this event which was attended by delegate from around the globe.
The Fourth International Caspian Conference
The Conference held in Rasht in September 2015 was not only the 4th International Caspian Conference overall, but it was the first ever held in the homeland of the Caspian Horse. It coincided very happily with the 50th Anniversary of Louise Firouz’ discovery of the Caspian in 1965, which added an extra poignancy to the occasion.
Calendar Shoot Diaries
2015 was the 50th Anniversary of the rediscovery of the Caspian Horse by Louise Firouz. In order to celebrate this momentous event, CHS council member Farokh Khorooshi teamed up with the renowned photographer Colin Barker and Caspian specialist and Patron of the Caspian Horse Society Ateshe Firouz to produce photos for a 50th Anniversary commemorative calendar.
Together they are travelled over the globe in search of these precious horses.Travelling to Iran to attend the 12th Caspian Horse Festival in Rasht, near the southwest of the Caspian Sea, they used this opportunity to photograph Caspian horses in their native land.
From Rags to Riches - Kineton Khoja driving to success!
The ten year old Caspian gelding Kineton Khoja is at the end of a remarkable twelve months. Purchased by Nichola Waddicor from a riding school in January 2015, he was broken to drive by Barry Hook, then driven by Nichola’s daughter Amelia and started Indoor Driving Trials last winter with some success. This year Amelia has concentrated on the new Evolution Pony Class of Driving Trials and he has gone from strength to strength, making Amelia leading driver in the country in that class.
